Marco Rubio Just Wrecked Michelle Obama for Saying GOP Is All White Men With One Photo

Former First Lady Michelle Obama isAin hot waterAfor recent comments disparaging the demographics of theAGOP.

According toApreviousAIJR reporting:

Obama’s remarks, made Tuesday at aAPennsylvania Conference for Women, were specifically aimed at the race and gender makeup of the party. Obama claimed that people did not trust the GOP since the makeup is a?all men, all white.a? The former first ladyAsaidA[emphasis added]:

a?On one side of the room, it’s literally gray and white. Literally, that’s the color palette on one side of the room. On the other side of the room, there are yellows and blues and whites and greens.APhysically, there’s a difference in color, in the tone.ABecause one side: all men, all white.AOn the other side: some women, some people of color.a?

Obama has received blowback from the remarks. However, no response was as savage as Sen. Marco Rubio’s. He is a first-generation American whose parents came from Cuba. He is also one of four U.S. senators of Hispanic descent.

Rubio tweeted this image along with the line:

Probably a good time to use a?Let me rephrase thata?

Joining Rubio in the photo is GOP Sen. Tim Scott, the first black senator for the Deep South since reconstruction, and Nikki Haley, the first female Indian-American governor in U.S. history.

In the photo, Rubio was partially obscuring congressmanATrey Gowdy, a white guy.

Some other notable GOP elected officials have also trolled the former first lady for her comments:

The comments were the second time that the former first lady has disparaged a?white malesa? in the past few days. At a conference in Utah in late September, the former first lady saidAthat a?white guysa? are making tech less diverse.AAccordingAto the Salt Lake Tribune:

Changing that composition, Obama said, will take encouraging girls at a young age to study science and math. It will mean bridging a?the technology gapa? that persists in low-income districts. It requires revisions to the public-school system. And it warrants forming hiring committees with more women and people of color.

a?You canat just say you want to fix the problems, you have to mean it,a? Obama said.Aa?If a bunch of white guys are sitting around the table trying to get more women involved, theyare not going to come up with the answer.a?
